Yes. Savara is designed specifically for babies. General guidance recommends keeping sound machines at or below 50 dB at the baby's ear level — roughly the volume of a quiet conversation — and placing the device at least 7 feet from where the baby sleeps. If you're unsure, a free decibel meter app on your phone makes it easy to check. As with any sound device, keep Savara on a shelf or dresser rather than in the baby's bed, following general safe-sleep guidelines.
White noise is widely used for infant sleep and many families find it helpful. Savara takes a different approach, designed for parents who want something that feels warmer and more intentional. The sounds are tonal rather than noise-based, built around 432 Hz frequencies, handpan, and singing bowls, which many parents find easier to have playing for long stretches.
White noise is a broadband noise that masks other sounds. Savara’s sounds are tonal. They have warmth, resonance, and gentle movement, making them feel more like a calm sound environment than a noise blocker. Many parents find tonal sounds easier to listen to over long periods, for themselves as well as their baby.
General guidance suggests keeping sound machines below 50 decibels at the baby's ear level which is roughly the volume of a quiet conversation. Savara doesn't cap its volume, so it can be used effectively in noisier environments like outdoors or on the go. As with any sound device used near a baby, parents should use their judgment and keep the volume at a comfortable, gentle level.
Each sound on Savara is built around steady, resonant tones rather than rhythm, melody, or noise. handpan produces warm, flowing tones that blend naturally into one another. Singing bowls create long, sustained resonance that feels spacious and grounding. The 432 Hz track is built around a tuning frequency that sits slightly lower than standard modern audio. Many people experience it as softer and warmer to listen to over time.
Together they offer three distinct sound environments, all designed to feel calm and non-stimulating for longer periods of rest.
